And that, as they say, is a wrap…
Our doors are now closed until Thursday 27th January 2022 to recover… But wow… what a 2021 that was… After an incredibly tough start to the year we were finally able to open our doors post Lockdown Part III on 15th April to serve you all in our fabulous “Après” outside seating area on embankment. We opened inside again on 20th May & then hosted Dartmouth’s Unofficial Pride in June, and we were finalists in the Muddy Stilettos Awards in the “Best Bar Devon” Category and shortlisted to the last Five! We launched our #ThursdayNightLive series of live events in July opening with James Harris Sax Beatbelt, followed by the fabulous Joanna Cooke & then the outstanding Derek Nash & the Martin Dale Quartet. In August we were thrilled to be a part of the The Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta with our pop up in Coronation Park. And it didn’t stop there. In the autumn we returned with more Thursday Night Live Events including a Gin Masterclass with Plymouth Gin, a Comedy Night with hilarious acts Wilton Milton, Suzy Bennett & Demitris Deech and more amazing live music including Sarah Yeo Annika Skoogh Music, DJ Jason Vegas Butler & The Drat Pack. Our Sunday Funday Happy Hour proved exceptionally popular, & in December we hosted Christmas Parties galore, with the icing on the cake, our Party to end all Parties, our All That Glitters on NYE. What a night! We can’t wait to welcome you all back again on THURSDAY 27th JANUARY… & we’ll be announcing more Thursday Night Live Events soon too… so watch this space! Thank you to you all for your ongoing support of our special little bar in the heart of Dartmouth. See you soon.

Important information for all of our fabulous customers
We know that people are very excited about the lifting of most restrictions on Monday 19th July 2021 in England, but with ever increasing Covid rates, particularly here in the South West, the safety of our team, their families and our customers needs to be our number one priority. Therefore, with that in mind, we have decided to remain operating with our current covid rules & regulations in place. i.e. Table Service only and limiting the number of customers inside the venue. The only difference will be that we will leave it to your own discretion as to whether you wear a mask on entry, and when moving around the venue. We understand everyone is keen to have life to return to "normal" but we feel it is right to err on the side of caution at this time and ensure that your 1620 experience is as safe as possible. We will continue to monitor the Covid situation and keep you updated as to when we may relax rules here further. Thank you, as ever, for understanding, and for your continued support in these ever challenging times. Every year, during the month of June, the LGBTQ+ community celebrates in a number of different ways. Across the globe, various events are held during this special month as a way of recognising the influence LGBTQ+ people have had around the world. Why was June chosen? Because it is when the Stonewall Riots took place, way back in 1969. Pride Month is so important because it marks the start of huge change within the LGBTQ+ community, as well as the wider societal implications. Although attitudes and injustice still remain, we have come a long way since the riots of 1969 and by continuing in this long standing tradition we continue to raise awareness, improve the attitudes of society and encourage inclusiveness.
We are excited to be hosting Dartmouth’s Unofficial Pride on Thursday 24th June, at Bar 1620 Dartmouth from 7pm. Bar 1620 is very LGBTQ+ friendly and we were thrilled to be asked to host this event that we hope will begin to bring the local community closer together. We look forward to this first gathering and hope to see as many of you there as possible! Stay Safe & Happy Pride! #Pride2021 We are thrilled that we have been nominated in the BEST BAR category in the 2021 Muddy Stilettos Awards for DEVON.
